The Classic Volvo Workshop

Welcome to the cyberworkshop! This is the entry page into the world of Classic Volvo mechanics. We will here try to educate you as an Classic Volvo owner in all the aspects of maintaining and repairing your car.

A tiny start has taken place. "The Story of the B18/B20 engine" has gotten its first, half (!) chapter and since there is a big pressure on action on a web site, we put it online. Read and enjoy, for free, still some time....

Sweden is filled with old (mostly, nowadays) guys that has spent decades getting more horsepower´s out of the B18/B20 engine. One of them is Sölve Ståhl at Ståhlmotor AB. He has massive amounts of knowledge and an excellent web site, unfortunately only in Swedish: www.stahlmotor.se .

Another of the still going Swedish engine gurus is K-G at www.kgtrimning.com . He gives out a catalog, a bible for Volvo tuning. Only in Swedish but just the pictures are worth the cost!

A very informative English site for racing fans is www.v-performance.com . I recently stumbled upon it and it looks very interesting. John Parker does have the advantage of the above "hard core" Swedish sites that he writes in English AND that he does keep up a career in classic Volvo racing.

The MAJOR knowledge around classic Volvos is to be found in the Swedish enthusiast clubs. Even if you are English spoken, a membership is well worth it. Among the members are folks that are almost totally integrated with their respective Volvo model and can give you details about the most remote detail you can think of.

The most important are:
