Ms Herta Haglöf
did buy this Volvo on May 11 1977. She traded in a 1975 242 at the
Volvo dealer Ernst Nilsson AB in Stockholm. The car dealer threw in a
radio antenna at no extra charge. Volvo celebrated its 50th anniversary by producing jubilee models. These included this silver-coloured Volvo 240 adorned with gold stripes It also boasted a silver plate on the dashboard signed by P.G. Gyllenhammar and a special jubilee badge. The Volvo stayed with Ms Haglöf for 25 years. She parted from it, very reluctantly, on September 19, 2002, almost 90 years old. Ms Haglöf did drive very little. The car has only rolled 46 700 kms during all the years. The car was most of the time sitting in Ms Haglöf´s tiny little garage. |

All documents
from the purchase in 1977 is still there, in mint condition! Even the reciepts from the payment. So is the original tool set in the boot. The car sits right now at the ClassicVolvo.com head quarters in Järna. One hour south, on the E4, of Stockholm, Sweden. Delivery any where in the world is possible. It is hard to find anything wrong at all with the interior. Ms Haglöf has had a little dog that has left some hair on the floor. And the black paint is worn of on a little patch on the clutch pedal. Thats about it...! Oh, yea, the cigarette lighter is used... but not the ash try. The interior is in most aspects like new. |

The car is inspected
by Swedish safety inspection, serviced and ready for the road. If needed,
you will get a set of winter tires. There is still snow in Sweden. The car has been resprayed up to the chrome strips on the sides. Ms Haglöf did make some marks on it and had it resprayed. The respray is not completely 100% satisfying and there is still a small mark on the right rear wing that has not been tended to. The overall impression of the car, though, is VERY good. |

The body is in remarkable
good condition but is not completely virginal. In other words: it has
been touched by weld. Rust has been repaired in the rear wheel arches. The repair has been carried out in a very professional way and all the original lines in the body has been kept intact. The body has been completely rust protected and under coated. |

Original tools in a
very clean luggage compartment. Extra tools and materials for long distance driving will be supplied, if necessary, for a buyer that wants to drive the Volvo out of the country. A tow bar (Volvo original) exists in stock and can be supplied within the purchase. |

For buyers in the USA there are special shipping conditions. Due to the September 11 terrorist danger, nothing extra can be put in to a car shipped to the USA. Not even an extra set of tires. You can just get the car, with the original tools, the spare wheel and the manuals. |

A picture of one of
the cleanest engine bays there is on a Volvo 240. All original stickers
are still there. The engine is a B21A. The gearbox as a 4-speed with stick
shift. A five speed (4 plus overdrive) gearbox exists in stock and can be supplied within the purchase. |
