| Finally,
after a long time with no action, there is some material to fill another
"Round" in this Cyber fight. On Wednesday the 4th of October there was a five minute(!) report in "Aktuellt", the number one Swedish news program, about the ClassicVolvo.com struggle with FoMoCo. On prime time, 9.25 PM, right before the weather report! I was on a, much needed, four day holiday to Prague, Czech Republic, arriving back to Stockholm late Thursday evening. I knew that this newspiece would come but did not know when. Coming on to the runway in Stockholm Airport the big commotion started. My cellular phone (that had been off in Prague) started to ring and did not stop. Lots of calls, amongst them one from the Volvo top, the Head of Press Mr. Ingmar Hesslefors. Coming into the office, there was 180 e-mail waiting, five times the normal quota of site visitors, massive amounts of Swedish discussion group messages (which has been rather dead sofar....). The local newspaper wanted to visit and some computer mags and more. A fair lot of Swedes did tell me to open an account where they can deposit money to pay for lawyers (why have not you, Anglos, done this??). One of the most heartwarming greetings was an ordinary old-fashioned, paper postcard from a Swedish fan. Very unusual in todays IT world! I know that the web is powerful but I had no idea about the massive power of news television. And I am still, two days later, a bit shocked about it. |

still have about one hundred e-mail's to open. When Monday morning comes
up I will start to contact the Volvo hierarchy, who on the TV said things
like "We got no reason to squeeze this guy" and "We will
establish some decent contact with him". Then we will see what will happen. I will for sure keep you informed! |
