DOMAIN STRUGGLE
Classic Volvo .com - The Internet Volvo Water Hole

The Right To A Domain / Ford vs. ClassicVolvo.com
ROUND 1
ClassicVolvo.com has been sued by Ford for violation of "the Lanham Act
amendment, known as The Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act".
We have received fat, fifty-page letters, written in American, law-English,
that we hardly understand, from law firms that does not answer e-mail.
As far as we understand, Ford Motor Company wants us to close down our
Internet domain www.classicvolvo.com because of, amongst other things
"trademark dilution and acting in bad faith" (Volvo).
As the owner of ClassicVolvo.com I think this is
grossly injust and unfair.
I will fight it with all means possible.
ClassicVolvo.com has been on the Internet since October 1996.
We have all the time kept the Volvo flag high and the goodwill that the trademark "Volvo" has got from our site, to no cost to either AB Volvo or Ford Motor Company, sums up to a lot. Ford should really send us a check, not a lawsuit

Many of our customers have been offended by this act against us. One of them,
Mike Fix from USA, writes:
"Please tell me more about trouble with Ford. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. I can try to get it on the news in this country. I'm sure Ford doesn't want it well known what they are trying to do.
My wife has been considering a new car purchase. One of the cars she was thinking about getting was a Ford. After I told her what is happening with you, Ford is no longer a consideration".
